Name: Taragh Boyle
Position:Marketing Manager
Company: Renaissance
Tell us a little bit about what you do…
For the past 5 years I have been the Marketing Manager at Renaissance. I work closely with our Vendor, VAR and MSP Partners to support them with their marketing strategy in Ireland.
What do you love about your job?
I love working with our partners and sales team, building relationships and discussing new ways to market their solutions and offerings.
I enjoy planning the many events we host in conjunction with our partner community whether that be webinars, lunch or dinner events or our annual Cyber Expo and Conference Ireland Event. It’s always so lovely meeting everyone face-to-face.
What’s the hottest thing in your solution or product portfolio today?
As a distributor, we have a diverse portfolio of cybersecurity vendors tackling a range of challenges, so it’s tough to pinpoint a single “hottest” solution. Our focus spans multiple cutting-edge areas, from identity verification to advanced threat detection, designed to address evolving security needs across industries.
What trends are shaping innovation in your company today?
Based on the conversations I am having, key trends shaping innovation for us include a rising emphasis on zero-trust architecture, the integration of AI and machine learning to predict and respond to threats, and there is also a growing demand for cloud-native security solutions. We’re continually adapting to these trends to provide our clients with the most robust and future-ready cybersecurity options available.
What do you think makes a great team?
For me, a great team thrives on collaboration, It’s about stepping up to support one another and being ready to lend a hand when needed and where everyone feels encouraged and at ease to share their own thoughts. I also believe that being able to share a laugh and some light-hearted moments is important too.
If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
That’s a tough question, but honestly, I wouldn’t want to trade places with anyone. You never really know what’s going on in someone’s life beneath the surface, and I’d rather focus on making the most of my own path. How cliché!!!
AI, friend or foe?
At Renaissance we see both sides of the AI debate. On one hand, AI is a powerful tool, helping predict, detect, and prevent cyber-attacks with impressive speed and accuracy. On the other hand, AI can also be exploited by attackers to create more sophisticated threats, making it a double-edged sword. It’s all about using AI responsibly and staying one step ahead to maximise its potential for defence while minimising its risks.
