Convention Centre Dublin
Highlights
Security
The Convention Centre Dublin now has a printer network which is completely secured with HP Enterprise devices. This includes built-in encryption to help protect sensitive business information stored on hard drives and administrative access controls as well as self-healing security features (HP Sure Start, whitelisting, run-time intrusion detection) to automatically detect, stop, and recover from attacks. Only HP offers a combination of security features that can monitor to detect and automatically stop an attack then self-validate software integrity in a reboot.
Sustainability
Devices are optimised during peak times and energy is conserved outside of these hours
Pages Printed
Stacked will be supporting the annual printing of 1.2 million pages per year.
Savings
By implementing a HPAC solution the CCD has full visibility of organisational usages even down to department and user level. Reports can be customised and automated, enabling them to manage costs and easily identify areas for improvement. Suppliers were streamlined from three down to one so less time is spent chasing up enquiries and managing supplies.
Devices
The Convention Centre Dublin had eight existing devices which were upgraded to HP Future Smart Devices. There has been a reduction in downtime due to remote monitoring. Our Service Delivery team actively looks for anomalies and resolves them before they become issues, as well as upgrading firmware remotely during off peak times, using HP’s Future Smart technology.
The Objective
The CCD needed devices that supported their need to prioritise security, reduce costs and also to fully support requirements such as document workflow and scan to email and cloud. Reducing suppliers from three to one was also a factor in the CCD’s decision to implement a full Stacked HP Managed Print Solution.
The Solution
We upgraded all of the CCD devices to new HP Future Smart Devices with Access Control (HPAC). HPAC helps to prevent sensitive documents from going unclaimed and limits unauthorised use of devices, while providing local, mobile, and remote users with convenient authentication options such as HP proximity card readers, PIC codes, PIN codes, and smartcards.
HPAC helps organisations meet corporate security standards, reduce costs, and achieve environmental goals by eliminating unwarranted device use. A full Follow Me Print Solution was embedded on the entire fleet for all staff within the organisation. A provision was also made for additional HP devices on loan for large events as needed.
The Reasoning
The CCD were looking for a lease option with a trusted services provider like stacked and an established and reliable brand like HP. The CCD’s new solution incorporates a fixed price per page including all spare parts and servicing Their new package also means that they now have one single point of contact for all of their printing needs which reduces the amount of time required to manage their devices, servicing and supplies. They also wanted to be able to report on usage right down to user level, a feature available with HP Access Control.
The Result
The Hewlett Packard Access Control (HPAC) Solution and the Follow Me Print Solution assisted the organisation with their GDPR Compliance while also reducing wastage. With HPAC, unclaimed print jobs are reduced, and efficiencies increased. Users can print to a secure network, authenticate with ease, and retrieve jobs when necessary—even on the go.
