Highlights

Security

The Lyrath’s network is now secured with HP Enterprise devices. This includes built-in encryption to help protect sensitive business information stored on hard drives and administrative access controls as well as self-healing security features (HP Sure Start, whitelisting, run-time intrusion detection) to automatically detect, stop, and recover from attacks. Only HP offers a combination of security features that can monitor to detect and automatically stop an attack then self-validate software integrity in a reboot.

Devices

The Lyrath saw a decrease of 12% in the number of devices installed and a 70% reduction in supply types resulting improvements in efficiencies and productivity by aligning with HP’s balanced deployment strategy.

Savings

By reducing the number of devices in operation and consolidating toner and parts suppliers the hotel now has a full picture of all costs associated with their print environment giving them more control over their budget.

Pages Printed

Supporting over 700,000 pages printed annually.

Efficiencies

User experience has been hugely simplified. The number of device brands in use was reduced by 80%, from 5 to 1. The interface is standardised across all HP models which ensures ease of use so that staff need to spend less time adjusting settings.

A reduction in downtime has been achieved due to remote monitoring. Our Service Delivery team actively looks for anomalies and resolves them before they become issues and firmware is now upgraded remotely during off peak times using HP’s Future Smart technology.  Staff are no longer required to raise requisitions, manage supplies or order stock, freeing up additional time to spend on revenue generating or client facing activities.

Sustainability

By reducing the number of devices in operation and consolidating toner and parts suppliers the hotel now has a full picture of all costs associated with their print environment giving them more control over their budget.

The Objective

The Lyrath was managing 17 devices with 44 different supply types. Within this device portfolio there were 5 different brands and 13 different models. It was a major headache and as time went on, it was getting more complicated instead of less. The entire print process needed to be streamlined, simplified and organised in a way that was straightforward and would not take staff away from their main duties.

The Solution

A mix of single function high volume mono machines, along with future smart intelligent colour MFP’s were installed. The number of devices was reduced from 17 to 15, supply types were reduced from 44 to 13, brands from 5 to 1 and models from 13 to 4. We also introduced a fully automated supplies replenishment and billing solution.

The Reasoning

The mix of devices and the services that were implemented here were tailored to the Lyrath’s particular situation. This is a really important part of the stacked process. We don’t just implement a one for all solution. We recognise that a managed print solution needs to work around the client’s business and not the other way around.

The Result

After we implemented a true managed print service, staff were able to concentrate on their core competencies and not worry about print. Through the introduction of simple scanning solutions such as scan to email and by setting up a folder system, we also helped to improve workflow and productivity.
