Managing Director, Cocoon Childcare
Cocoon had a total of 15 laser multi-functional devices, across their 14 sites; 14 x 23 page per minute devices and 1 x 31 page per minute device. These speeds are fairly low for an organisation of their size, so they knew that there was a lot of scope for improvement on that front. Their old machines were slow, noisy and not very energy efficient. They wanted to increase productivity, reduce their carbon footprint if possible, but continue to have their printer fleet managed and supported remotely.
We replaced their existing machines with 15 HP Enterprise PageWide devices with an output speed of up to 60 pages per minute. This speed was over double what they were dealing with previously. This change alone, basically cut their wait time in half and doubled their productivity! The Page-Wide devices are also a lot quieter whilst running.
By choosing HP PageWide technology, Cocoon enjoys the peace of mind that comes with higher specifications, an established brand name and an extensive support package. With HP PageWide devices, Cocoon Childcare also made an environmentally conscious choice as the HP Page-Wide technology uses 86% less energy than competing laser devices and is ENERGY STAR® certified. This means a reduced carbon footprint of up to 55%.
All of Cocoon’s new devices were HP Future Smart Devices with Access Control (HPAC). HPAC helps to prevent sensitive documents from going unclaimed and limits unauthorised use of devices, while providing local, mobile, and remote users with convenient authentication options such as HP proximity card readers, PIC codes, PIN codes, and smartcards. HPAC helps organisations meet corporate security standards, reduce costs, and achieve environmental goals by eliminating unwarranted device use. We were also able to offer Cocoon far more competitive running costs that their previous supplier’s solution.
Cocoon were looking for a Managed Print Service with higher spec devices, a trusted services provider like Stacked and an established and reliable brand like HP. They were also interested in being able to report on usage right down to user level, a feature available with HP Access Control.
The Hewlett Packard Access Control (HPAC) Solution assisted the organisation with their GDPR Compliance while also reducing wastage. With HPAC, unclaimed print jobs are reduced, and efficiencies increased. Users can print to a secure network, authenticate with ease, and retrieve jobs when necessary—even on the go.
